When I started working at the archive one of my first jobs was an inventory of the films.  Some films had been replaced in wrong boxes , some had wrong titles and some were yet to be discovered. It was always exciting finding a "lost " film. In fact through the years we've discovered more "lost " films through donations. 

So what's so special to mention this - the archive has always been on the look out for Helmar Lerski's Histadrut (Israel's Labor Organization) movies from the early 1940s. A few years ago the archive realized hidden in Hazel Greenwald's Hadassah collection were fragments from Lerski's Yaldei HaShemesh and then a few years ago Aviva Rodin was cleaning her father's attic and found an entire copy of this film which she donated to the archive. There was another movie lacking credits or title which we in the archive called  [Histadrut: Palestine in world war II]  but really when listening to the narration this is Labour Palestine.

 A few weeks ago while watching movies that should enter the digitization program another Lerski film was found hiding in Hazel's collection - Amal about the Max Fine school of the Histadrut. Now if we could only locate Kupat Cholim , we'd have a royal flush.
